When I’m not working hard for my clients, I like to keep busy in other ways. It is something honey bees and I have in common. As a local beekeeper, I am fascinated by the tiny and industrious denizens of the Apiary. Honey bees are important in a number of ways. They are critical pollinators, and produce a number of helpful raw materials for people including honey, pollen, and wax. These materials are then used for a variety of purposes.
When I first started beekeeping, I was able to find many wonderful resources to help me manage my hives. I had, and still have, several wonderful mentors, and am a member of the Summit County Beekeepers Association. Still, thinking like a lawyer, I had particular interest in regulations, laws, and liability as a beekeeper. Information on these aspects of beekeeping were more difficult to come by. I have created this page to help my fellow beekeepers with questions they may have on the local, Ohio State, and Federal legal questions on beekeeping.
