I have a passion for learning and have a diverse range on interests. I attended art school at Youngstown State University, and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Art History and Minor in Anthropology from Kent State University. I began my career as a financial advisor and then as a compliance supervisor for several broker/dealers. I have nearly 16 years of experience in the financial services industry. I attended the University of Akron School of Law, earning my Juris Doctorate, Magna Cum Laude.

I have also taken courses in business at Stark State College, and Retirement Planning, Investment Management, Insurance Planning, and Tax Planning at the College for Financial Planning.

Where I’m Coming From

During my time in the financial services industry, I have seen first hand the affects of bad financial advice and bad financial advisors on the financial well being of retail investors. I use my industry knowledge and experience to help my clients become whole again when disputes and complaints with financial professionals arise.

Early in my financial career my Grandfather was murdered. The circumstances of his death were stressful enough, but complicated even further because he died intestate (without a Will) and without any basic estate planning. While my Grandfather had tried to discuss what he wanted to happen with his estate with loved ones, it was impossible to do so without a properly executed Will. His assets were distributed based on the probate laws of his State. Some basic estate planning would have made a very stressful time a little less so, and preserved some family relationships which have never been the same. I use my legal training to help clients avoid similar difficulties in difficult times.

Later, just before I began attending law school, my Mother passed away after a period of prolonged disability. She had put a Will in place many years before when my siblings and I were still children. Most of the provisions of her Will did not apply because it set up a trust to hold her assets for the benefit of her minor children. We were all adults at that point. She also attempted basic estate planning on her own. Without appropriate legal advice, her plans nearly failed and it took considerable effort to preserve her house which was her pride and joy. Some simple estate advice would have saved my siblings and I a significant amount of stress, time, and expense. Now I endeavor to help my clients preserve assets and keep their plans up to date.
